“A great DJ doesn't just play records. They create atmosphere and build memories.”

The journey, the vision, the legacy.

JUSTBRAD on his early inspirations, professional milestones, personal philosophy, and what comes next. Interview responses prepared for Gulf News.

01

Can you share a defining moment from your early years that played a key role in shaping your ambitions or career path?

Growing up, I realized music had the power to connect people beyond language, culture, or background. That discovery shaped my ambition to build a career where I could create emotions, experiences, and meaningful connections through sound.

02

What initially attracted you to your current industry, and what continues to motivate you to grow within it?

What attracted me was the ability to influence people’s emotions through music. Today, I’m motivated by artistic evolution, discovering new sounds, and creating experiences that go beyond entertainment and leave a lasting impression.

03

Which accomplishment are you most proud of so far, and what makes it particularly meaningful to you?

Establishing myself in Dubai’s competitive entertainment industry and becoming Music Curator at NAHATÈ Private Room is something I’m particularly proud of. It represents years of dedication, trust, and the opportunity to shape a musical identity beyond my own performances.

04

How did your professional journey begin, and what were some of the challenges that helped shape your resilience early on?

My journey began with passion, curiosity, and a determination to develop my own musical identity. Building credibility in a competitive industry required patience, discipline, and consistency. Those early challenges taught me that reputation is earned through actions.

05

What are you currently building or focusing on, and how does it reflect your long-term vision?

I’m focused on expanding my identity beyond DJing into music curation, creative direction, and entrepreneurship. My long-term vision is to build an international creative platform where music, fashion, culture, and hospitality naturally intersect.

06

What is one lesson that has significantly influenced your mindset or work ethic throughout your career?

Talent may open doors, but character, discipline, and consistency determine how long they remain open. I’ve learned that genuine success comes from respecting people, staying humble, and continuously improving, regardless of how far you’ve come.

07

How do you hope to influence your industry, and what lasting impression would you like your work to leave?

I want to contribute to a culture where music is treated as an art of connection rather than simply entertainment. For me, a great DJ doesn’t just play records; they understand people, create atmosphere, and build memories.

I hope to inspire the next generation of artists to value originality, musical knowledge, and authenticity over temporary trends. Ultimately, I want my work to be remembered not only for the music I played, but for the emotions and experiences I created.

08

With the experience you have today, what advice would you give to your younger self at the start of your journey?

I would tell my younger self to trust the process, remain patient, and never compromise personal values for short-term opportunities.

Not every closed door is a failure, and not every opportunity is meant for you. Surround yourself with people who challenge you to grow, protect your reputation, and remember that real success is built quietly, long before the world notices it.

Most importantly, enjoy the journey. Ambition is important, but so is appreciating the people and experiences that make it meaningful.

Stay connected.
